Christmas Day, Indian Christians celebrate the birth of christ in much the same way as in the west; many churches hold services/mass at midnight. There is an air of peace during the season and festivity in city markets. Which are specially decorated and illuminated.
Among the most joyous and colourful celebrations are the festivities at Goa which retain the pageantry of the Latin temper brought to a brilliant culmination under an Indian sun.
