There is a great confusion regarding the actual date of Janmashtami and as of now Janmashtami is celebrated in hindi belt on 26th of August in place of 27th. Janmashtami is celebrated in remembrance of the lord Krishna. Lord Krishna was born on the eighth day and was also the eighth son who was supposed to terminate Kansa. Lord Krishna was actually born in a prisoner’s cell. But, his father took him to a safe place away from Kansa. This festival is usually organized in two days. The first day of this festival is regarded as Sri Krishna Jayanti and the second one is celebrated as Janamashtmi. Millions of devotees all around India celebrate Lord Krishna’s birth in Janmashtami.
