On the 14th day of Bhadrapad Lord Ganesha’s statue is immersed. People also pray for Lord Vishnu, which is kept for 14 years to bring wealth. This is the day when the Ganpati festival is finally over. On this day people take the murti of lord Ganesha to some river or lake to perform visarjan. They believe that the lord Ganesha will bring lot of wealth and success. This is why people perform visarjan to lord Shiva with great enthusiasm to welcome the next year with great excitement.
